The Amphia Hospital was looking for a solution to the major challenges in the care sector: the increasingly tight labour market and the rapid technological developments. This required an ambitious strategy and a process where employees felt involved. We designed a pattern-breaking trajectory in which over 650 strategic dialogues took place on the workplace floor. After which 200 employees took the decisive decisions about their joint future during an intensive two-day period.
Our human-oriented way of design immediately generated positive energy and replaced abstract ideas with concrete action. Through targeted workshops, operational teams translated the goals directly into ready-made, daily actions in the treatment room. The healthcare professionals confidently took control of their own plans, thus constantly strengthening the quality of care through the renewed leadership and the strong collaboration.
"The process of a new strategy was, if possible, even more important than the final strategy itself. The cooperation and attention for each other that this process generated worked very inspiringly and is an example of how we want to do it in future."
